INTRODUCTION

The trend detection used in QC-CALC can be used to print a report to the screen, paper, or file. When a trend occurs and many dimensions are being measured, this can be a very large report with only one plot containing the problem. These reports are useful for identifying real-time problems, but some customers only want to see the dimensions containing the trends.

STEPS

The simplest method of solving this problem is to change the report template in use. Early versions of QC-CALC did not include this template but later versions ship with the new template. The template is called Trends-Only.rtx and should be selected when a reduced report is desired. To select this template:

  1. Select Tools > Options from the QC-CALC Real-Time menu.
  2. Expand the Trend Detection menu on the left side of the screen
  3. Select the Report and Log menu
  4. Enable Reporting
  5. Now press the Browse button to select the Trend Template
  6. Pick C:\Prolink\QC-CALC 3.0\Template\Default\Trends-Only.rtx
  7. Click OK

If you cannot locate this template in your software, click the following link and save the template in C:\Prolink\QC-CALC 3.0\Template\Default\:

Now follow the steps above to use your new template.

CONCLUSION

You can easily reduce your report size by choosing the correct template during Real-Time trend detection. If trends are turned on and you select this template during a manual Plot Report, your report is reduced to just the offending plots.
